I’ll be honest, I’m not a drinker so I can’t really say I had any actual interest in Jack Daniels as a product. However, it’s always interesting to learn the history of a name that’s been around since 1875. And to be honest – it was incredibly interesting walking along the Jack Daniels Distillery tour in Lynchburg, TN and seeing step by step how the whiskey is made.
A couple of tips – do NOT go when it’s cold. Most of the tour is outside and all it takes is a little bit of wind and you’ll wish you had packed a heavier coat. (No matter how heavy your coat may already be.) This is a perfect destination for a Spring or Fall trip.
Like many of the tours we go on – they also don’t allow cameras for most of the tour. That might just be more of a safety thing because you are literally right on top of equipment and giant vats as you walk around the property. You’ll hear a warning more than once: “Watch your step!”
